Due to Popular Demand....

Since I wrote the last episode of How I Came to be in England I've had lots of requests to carry on the story. I even had a Bring Back How I Came to be in England hash tag created on Twitter. (Fame at last!)

I was reluctant because the story had moved to the UK and closer to the present time. It also has so many twists and turns in it, I really didn't think people would believe it. I thought ending it where I arrived in England to stay here for good was the obvious point.

Then I read an older post, one written around the time I had the idea of charting my long and windy road from Finland to England. In it I promised to reveal why I have two wedding anniversaries. But I'd ended the story long before I'd got there.

There was another reason why I ended the tale where I did. Writing the blog posts about my life story was infringing on my other writing time; I wasn't getting anywhere with my current novel. Foolishly I thought it'd be easy to start to get obsessed about the other writing again. If only one could tell one's brain what to do.

So...after some thorough soul-searching, and after getting tired of lying awake at night continuing the story of How I Came to be in England inside my head, I decided to write more chapters. I'll try to continue my new love affair at the same time, who says you can't have two on the go at the same time?

I can relate. But.... when the other isn't flowing, the blogging has provided a vehicle to keep the creative thoughts coming. Or so I tell myself.
