No, I'm not that Helena Halme

I think I have a real life double. I've never met her, but I keep hearing about her. Last night on Twitter I was asked if I free-lance as a translator on YLE (Finnish Broadcasting Corporation).

No, I don't.

Now, Halme is not an uncommon name in Finland, nor is Helena, but with five million people in a country the size of Britain it is unusual to have a person of the same name to:

1. Be born in the same year, and month, and day.

2. Live in the same part of Helsinki.

3. Have a bank account at the same branch of the same bank as you. (Don't ask me how I know all this, but I do - this was before identity theft or privacy laws were invented)

4. Start translating for the Finnish TV around the same time you start as a translator for the BBC in Britain.

Is she stalking me or am I stalking her? Or perhaps we are twins separated at birth?

PS. If you are that Helena Halme and reading this, do send me an email. It's about time we met...(*hears scary movie music*)?

That is amazing LOL... When we were all over the news I googled myself and Darren, and apart from "our news"....
Now please forgive the language there was another Ruth Johnston on Facebook that... "Wanted to suck Darren's cock" ... Yes my husband was shocked at first, before realising his wife was not quite so uncouth, it was a much younger version of me with a much younger Darren, but still quite a coincidence xxx

Wow, fascinating, that is really quite spooky.

I personally have gone from having a relatively uncommon (at least "down south") surname to having a relatively common one and I do find it strange how many other "mes" are out there doing interesting things.

I love a good doppelganger story. Surely you're the 'good' one.

Ruth, trust you to have story like that. Very funny!

JulieB, it is quite scary, isn't it, to realise there's some-one out there people think is you?

Hunter, I assure you, I AM the good one...

This happened to my mum twenty years ago - same first name, same surname, same line of work, same London suburb, offices at one point only a street apart...!

Hampshireflyer and Fab., Perhaps there's a parallel universe that we break through to every now and then? (More scary music plays inside my head.)

That is uncanny! Love the twins picture. There's a blog award for you at mine. I've been trying to leave you a message for a while but for some reason your comments keep jamming my Mac xx
