Blog Awards

While I was away in Rome, I was blessed with not just one, but two awards. Many thanks to Wildernesschic and A Life Reclaimed for nominating my blog for One Lovely Blog Award. Also thanks to Oneof365 for further nominating me for Premio Blog! And I've got a MEME from Truestarr! I must go away more often...

So here goes, my nominations for One Lovely Blog are:

Mid-life Job Hunter A lovely blog about life, children growing up and what happens after.

Cajun Delights Great recipes with a great Louisianan atmosphere.

Old Who Me? You have to read this blog to believe it.

Prospero's Cellphone If you've ever dreamed of relocating somewhere in the sun, you must read this blog.

And the Premio Blog goes to:

Trout Towers I've only recently stumbled upon this blog, but already enjoying her observations immensly.

A Confused Take That Fan, 30 A funny blog about life as it happens.

Backwards in High Heels Tania Kinderley's smart, entertaining blog. I love it.

Motherhood The Final Frontier An intelligent, heart-warming blog.

Finally the MeMe. I'm reading a book in Swedish, Bitterfittan by Maria Sveland, which will only come out in English in the New Year so I can't even cheat, but must translate the 5th sentence on page 161 myself. Here goes:

He went alone to the editorial office, and the producer, and presented to them the same idea that his female colleagues had just come up with.

Now I do want to cheat a little. I'll throw the gauntlet to all the above blog writers for the MEME. You must quote the 5th sentence on page 161 of a book on your desk.

I am truly interested in what you are all reading (or just keeping by your computer)!

Thank you for your kinds words and the Lovely Blogger Award. Congrats to you on receiving the awards! I find it most interesting that the book you are reading is in Swedish. How I envy those who have the ability to read/write/understand many languages.

Had to write my 5th sentence of page 161 as it was most interesting. From A Judgement in Stone by Ruth Rendell.

"And it would be even better now that there was no one to interfere with her life."

Thank you SOOO much for the award! (it's my very first ever!)

"He sat down at the table and announced that he had been working hard on a novel and was ready to share the opening chapter with his friends." (about Mason Hoffenberg) from the Book Venus Bound, by John St Jorre (1994) a book about Olympia Press and its writers.

ps/do i have to do anything to have it show up on my blog?

(I still can't get over how nice it was of you to bestow it on me...)

You have all deserved the awards, so enjoy. And Truestarr, yes I'm afraid there's a catch - you have to pass the award on and nominate your favourite blogs.

Midlife Jobhunter, your 5th sentence is indeed most revealing!

Well, I have nominated my favorite blogs and posted them. Thank you.

You recommend not forgetting to post the award, but don't know where the award is... how do I post it? (does it just "show up?" or is there a link I'm supposed to connect to that I have overlooked...)

Truestarr, just copy and paste the picture from my blog, that's how easy it is. xx

ah, thank you! (sometimes it's the simple things that baffle the most...)

Thank you - so kind of you for visiting and for giving me an award. I have been a bit slack on updating my blog recently. But you have given me an incentive now to get back to it! Thank you once again x

Thank you so much for the Lovely Blog award. It is especially appreciated in that I am relatively new to blogging and it encourages me to go on. Your blog is so cool and I love your Englishman story but I haven't gone back to read the first chapters yet, but I definitely will for the ones I read intriqued me.

I have one question. Your comment on my blog when you gave me the award--is that good or bad?

The fifth sentence on Page l6l in the book I am reading FAR From the Madding Crowd by Thomas Hardy " is for the winter
emjoyment of persons unknown and far away,"

It is for a class on Thomas Hardy I am taking at the U. He writes involved lengthy sentences like Hawthorne. This refers to new wool that she has prepared to send to somewhere to be made into some warm clothing.

A fun thing
