London life: Brazilian hair at Bloww salon

I've recently found the new hair treatment called a Brazilian blow dry. I know this has been around for some time, but I haven't tried it because I'm quite conservative when it comes to my hair. Plus it seemed an expense I just couldn't afford.

But last time when I went to see the wonderful Clare at Bloww she extolled the virtues of not having to spend an hour over my unruly thick mane and I succumbed to the luxurious Brazilian treatment.

When she started to spray the lotion onto my wet hair, she warned me it may sting my eyes. And she was right. I felt like a complete wimp but I had to sit throughout the treatment, which lasted about fifteen minutes, with a towel over my face. I swore I'd never be silly and try new things again.

When she'd finished, Clare told me to leave the hair for two or three days without washing it and also gave me a free set of special shampoo and conditioner. Even though it was at times unpleasant, I had to admit that when I left the salon my hair looked gleaming and distinctly film-star like.

But it wasn't until I washed it for the first time that I really felt the benefit of the treatment. My hair, which is very thick and unyielding, usually takes me at least half an hour just to dry it, and an hour if I wanted to (try to) style it. Even then there are bits that never quite want to be controlled. But after the Brazilian the whole process took just ten minutes! And the blow drying was so easy. It was like magic!

And now I'm hooked...

I know it's expensive but my hair has never been so easy to manage. No more hours or painstaking, arm-aching blow drying...xxx

I wish my hair was thick and unyielding - but unfortunately it's rather like overcooked spaghetti that have been drenched in butter. Useless.
