REN Facial at Liberty's

I am a real social butterfly when it comes to skincare: for years and years I used to swear by Clarins but then something happened and I started using Estee Lauder - I think I was lured by the launch of the Re-Nutriv range. Who wouldn't want crushed pearls on their skin?

I was happy with Estee Lauder for a couple of years but now swap my skin care range fairly regularly. I've developed a theory that my skin is happier when not monogamous; it loves to try anything new.

During this summer I've found myself veering towards the REN range. Their products aren't too expensive and they claim to be

Clean Products that are free from skin-unfriendly ingredients including: Synthetic fragrance, pore-blocking petrochemicals, sulfate detergents, synthetic colours, animal ingredients and parabens.

When I saw that REN were treating their customers to a facial at Liberty's, I jumped at the chance to try more products in their range. The treatment cost £35 and was redeemable against purchase of their products.

I've never been to a facial at a store before and half expected to be perched at the end of a counter somewhere in full view of the other shoppers. But no, not at Liberty's...I was delighted when led into a small side room at the end of the cosmetics hall. And what a room!

This is where Queen Mary came to indulge in some retail therapy, so obviously good enough for me! I did feel like a Queen for the 45 minute treatment; the consultant was very professional, and afterwards my face felt smooth and radiant. The scents of the REN range are glorious, although the Apple techie who I went to see at the Covent Garden store afterwards must have wondered if I had a particularly fruity perfume on...

The product range used on the facials
Here's what I bought: Purity Cleansing Balm £30-00 and Glyolactic Radiance Renewal Mask also £30-00.

The therapist used both of these products on my skin during the facial and this is the result.

Do I look radiant or what?

It looks like a great fun experience. I've used REN stuff when I've gone to my SIL in Birmingham - she's got all the best gear!

Enjoy using your new REN stuff!

Sounds fabulous. I love Liberty - one of my friends bought me a small REN gift set for Christmas and the products were lovely. Might have to see if the offer's still on!

Hey Helena! It's great that you liked the REN products and facials, they're the only ones I use and my mum sticks strictly to them when doing her facials. They're loved by natural beauty therapists across the world. Good choice :) Love, Polina
